At BEON.tech, we’re proud to be a truly multicultural company with team members spread across Latin America. This diversity fuels our creativity, enriches problem-solving methods, and inspires innovation. But let’s be honest—making personal connections in a fully remote environment can be tough. While video calls and chat tools are essential for daily collaboration, nothing beats the magic of face-to-face experiences for building deeper relationships and driving long-term success.
That’s why we created two signature programs—Ambassadors’ Week and Get Together in Your City—to bring people closer, beyond the screen. Both initiatives aim to foster authentic, meaningful connections, and they’ve already made a remarkable difference.
Picture this: teammates from all over Latin America coming together at our Buenos Aires headquarters. That’s Ambassadors’ Week in a nutshell! This program invites team members to meet in person, share experiences, and strengthen the bonds they’ve only known virtually. It’s an incredible way to build camaraderie and feel more connected to one another.
Now, imagine this scenario. You’re working remotely from your home in Rio de Janeiro, collaborating with teammates located all over the world. It’s impressive, right? But what if some of these colleagues live just a few blocks away, and you’ve never met? That’s where Get Together in Your City comes in.
Launched in late 2023, this program organizes local meetups across Latin America, inviting BEONers to gather face-to-face in their own cities. Picture yourself in a cozy bar, with a reserved table and a few drinks on us. You’re laughing, sharing stories, and building relationships that last long after the gathering ends. We’ve already hosted events in São Paulo, Lima, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Tegucigalpa, and San Pedro Sula—and we’re just getting started.
Both initiatives share a simple but powerful mission: to create meaningful relationships that go beyond work.
Building authentic relationships at work is vital, especially for remote teams. Studies show that employees with close work friends are not only more satisfied but also more engaged and less likely to miss work. Here’s what some of our team members had to say about our initiatives:
“The BEONers Get Together was a fantastic opportunity to meet colleagues face-to-face and strengthen our connections while working on different projects. It helped reinforce bonds and created a sense of community. I hope we have more events like this!” – Daniel Versosa, Python engineer
“I loved BEONers Get Together! Generally, we don’t interact much with others on different projects, so having this chance to connect was really cool.” – Lucas Divino, full-stack engineer
These shared experiences do more than just bring people together. They create a sense of belonging, foster trust, and encourage collaboration—key elements that make remote work more seamless and fulfilling.
And science backs it up! Research from the Harvard Business Review shows that face-to-face interactions are 34 times more effective than email for building trust and generating new ideas. By investing in real-world connections, we’re fostering an environment where creativity, collaboration, and shared knowledge thrive.
Working remotely has its perks, but distance can sometimes make remote team members feel isolated. At BEON.tech, we combat that by ensuring everyone feels connected, no matter where they are. Our Talent Experience Managers check in regularly with our engineers to support their well-being and professional growth. Programs like our Rewards Program also keep the culture alive with fun games and virtual interactions.
But it’s initiatives like Get Together in Your City that take connection to the next level. These in-person meetups allow colleagues to network, exchange ideas, and build stronger relationships—making the workplace feel smaller and more connected across Latin America.
The results speak for themselves. Companies that prioritize social bonds see higher productivity, lower absenteeism, and better job satisfaction. At BEON.tech, these connections have strengthened our culture, boosted our engagement, and earned us the Great Place to Work certification four years in a row. We believe a happy team is a productive team, and investing in these initiatives has helped us maintain a loyal and motivated workforce.
Our Ambassadors’ Week and Get Together in Your City initiatives prove that even in a fully remote setting, real-world connections matter. They help us cultivate a tight-knit, supportive, and high-performing team.
